8 years minimum in all programs, children under 13 receive a 25% discount.
What to Bring
In this part of Peru it can rain any day of the year. In general we recommend bringing a raincoat, easy drying clothes (no jeans), rain boots, flashlight and binoculars. During excursions: mosquito protection cream or spray and solar protection. In order to protect from the mosquito and to walk with comfort in the trails: Shirts of long sleeve, long pants and a cap. In case that you want to enjoy a bath in fresh waters of cochas and rivers of Our Region you should bring a swimsuit.
Documentation
A passport is required to travel to South America. In addition, a visa (for US passports) is required to travel into Brazil and a Tourist Card for entry into Colombia for American citizens. Note: For residents of other countries, please contact foreign consulates for updated information.
Health Requirements
A Yellow Fever inoculation is required for passengers entering Brazil from Peru, Colombia or Bolivia. No other vaccinations are required. We recommend consulting your physician or local health department regarding Malaria.
Climate
Iquitos and the Tres Fronteras area enjoy year-round temperatures in the mid-80 F. Humidity is uncomfortable only in the jungle – not in towns or along the rivers. Nights can sometimes be cool. Rainy season runs from December to March, usually averaging one brief, heavy rainfall per day. As a result, the river is high from April to June, falls during the summer and reaches its lowest levels between August and November. A suggested clothing list will be sent at time of issuing final documents.
Meals
All meals are included on all cruises and expeditions. Meals are served buffet-style and feature caught fish, vegetables and fruit whenever possible. Due to the nature of the environment, some of the food is preserved and /or processed. No meals are included at local hotels unless indicated.
Insurance
Global Trips/Operator is NOT RESPONSIBLE, or liable for any loss, damage or theft luggage, personal belongings or illness. We do recommend for those passengers to purchase travel insurance.
Important Notice:
The Operator shall not be, or become, liable or responsible for any loss, injury, damage due to services, sickness, weather, war, revolts, criminal activity, acts of terrorism, quarantine, or any other causes. We reserve the right to cancel any tour prior departure, in which case full refund of all payments will constitute full settlement with passengers. A minimum of 8 passengers is required to operate the cruise.
Ship Insurance
The operator has insurance for the ship and the passengers who will be participating in our program inside our cruise ship.
Gratuities
It is customary to give cruise gratuities, subject to your satisfaction of services rendered. Gratuities on board and on land are not included in your full fare. Suggested tip amount per passenger is: USD$ 250.00 per passenger.
